2009
Mr. Akhilesh Katiyar, a seasoned politician, embarked on his political journey in 2009 when he assumed the position of National President of Shoshit Samaj Dal, an organization founded by MahaMana Ramswaroop Verma and Bihar Linen Shaheed Jagdev Prasad. His initial years in politics were marked by fervent activism and a commitment to social justice
2009-2013
During his tenure as the National President of Sochit Samaj Dal from 2009 to 2013, Mr. Katiyar exhibited remarkable leadership by spearheading the UP Krishi Kranti and Kisan Chetna Yatra. This 75-day-long journey without any single day break traversed 50 districts in Uttar Pradesh, focusing on issues pertinent to farmers and agricultural revolution. Additionally, he led the Samvidhan Bachao Samajik Nyay Yatra in 2011, advocating for the preservation of constitutional values with the rallying cry of “Samvidhan Bachao, Loktantr Bachao.” This 45-day yatra covered 40 districts and aimed at raising awareness about social justice.
2012
In 2012, under the symbol of Shoshit Samaj Dal, 52 candidates contested the U.P. assembly elections under the leadership of Mr. Akhilesh Katiyar. This marked a significant step in his political career, demonstrating his commitment to addressing the needs of the people at the legislative level.
2015
In 2015, he assumed the role of National General Secretary of Janata Dal United, a party led by Nitish Kumar. During this period, Mr. Katiyar played a crucial role in the Partydar Movement spearheaded by Hardik Patel. Taking full responsibility for the movement while Hardik Patel was in jail, he actively participated in the agitation across multiple states, including Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, and Chhattisgarh.
Mr. Katiyar played a pivotal role in exposing what he termed as the “Damanakari Niti” (Authoritarian Policies) of the BJP. He conducted multiple press conferences and rallies in Gujarat, calling upon all leaders who were against the policies of BJP such as Yashwant Sinha, to address the issues raised by the Partydar movement. We got a back support of eminent Leaders like .This period showcased his ability to confront the government on social and political issues.
2019
In 2019, Mr. Akhilesh Katiyar joined the Samajwadi Party, headed by Mr. Akhilesh Yadav and Founder Sh. Mulayam Singh Yadav (Ex Chief Minister U.P. & Ex Defence Minister). Taking on the role of National Secretary and Spokesperson, he actively participated in the parliamentary & assembly elections, leading rallies across the state as a star campaigner with Mr. Akhilesh Yadav. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Katiyar stood by the farmers and raised concerns about the Krishi Bill. He was the one who initiated Nukar Sabha’s in 40 districts of U.P. showing the faults of the Krishi Bill to the Public and brought together everyone to stand against the bill. His dedication to the party was evident as he led the UP-Parliament Jan Sabha Campaign.
2021
In 2021, he continued to play a prominent role within the Samajwadi Party by leading the Patel Yatra. Mr. Akhilesh Katiyar remains an essential and influential member of the Samajwadi Party, contributing to its growth and advocating for the rights and welfare of the people. His political journey is marked by a steadfast commitment to social justice, and the principles of democracy.
